Paul Gallen vs Josh Aloiai fight called off, COVID positive test, date, when is it

The famed super-fight between NRL players who became boxers Paul Gallen and Josh Eloi was halted after the Manly star tested positive for COVID-19.

The pair finally agreed to enter the arena and fight for eight rounds of two minutes, after months of quarrels over how long the fight should last.

Earlier this month the deal was signed and they were scheduled to meet in December as part of a two-day boxing event in Newcastle.

But on Monday, Eloi began to feel nauseous after training, and then returned a positive test to Corona.

His NRL club, Manly, confirmed the news. The sea eagles also said that Eloi was completely vaccinated, and had no face-to-face communication with any other member of the squad.

It is reported that his counting partner and fellow rugby league member, Joey Layloa, has also tested positive.

Layloa was scheduled to fight Chris Heington on the same card on December 10th.

The entire two-day event was canceled by No Limit Boxing developers, who are now frantically working to arrange an alternative ticket.

All tickets purchased so far will be refunded.
